Description

An awesome series on sedation and oral surgery. This series is going to have a mixture of everything – from live consultations, lectures, practical demonstrations, and recorded footage of surgical procedures too.

The team of Toothbusters – Dr. Nasser Syed, Dr. Tariq Drabu, Dr. Javed Ikram, and Dr. Chris Waith – will be guiding you and giving you insights into every stage of the process where a patient needs sedation and oral surgery procedures. You are going to love it!

This is Part 7. The assessment of a tooth requiring extraction and a live minor oral surgery procedure for a surgical extraction of an upper molar.

Aim:

  • Identify the main steps needed to undertake an extraction of an upper molar

  • Be able to identify the factors that may affect the extraction process and therefore be prepared for any unexpected outcomes
  • Be able to describe and apply the steps for a surgical extraction including raising a flap, bone removal, and suturing

Learning outcome:

  • By the end of this learning, the learner will be able to describe and apply the principles for a sound surgical extraction for an upper molar
