This is Part 7. The assessment of a tooth requiring extraction and a live minor oral surgery procedure for a surgical extraction of an upper molar.
Aim:
- Identify the main steps needed to undertake an extraction of an upper molar
Objectives:
- Be able to describe the anatomical things to consider prior to extraction
- Be able to identify the factors that may affect the extraction process and therefore be prepared for any unexpected outcomes
- Be able to describe and apply the steps for a surgical extraction including raising a flap, bone removal, and suturing
Learning outcome:
- By the end of this learning, the learner will be able to describe and apply the principles for a sound surgical extraction for an upper molar
