I have been watching some programs on TV recently about benefit cheats and it has got me thinking. As dentists we are in a position to identify patients who claim benfits and I often encounter patients who claim benefits which they clearly dont deserve. I recently saw a patient claiming pension credit who was telling me that he could not make an appointment because he recently went to buy a boat which he wants to use when he stays at his holiday home (which he rents during the year). Would it be wrong for me to disclose this information to the local authorities?
