Dental implant therapy in the last twenty years in general dental practice has risen considerably and almost all clinicians are treating patients who have had implant therapy. Diagnosis and management of implant complications are subjects that all clinicians need to be aware of and practice. Preventing problems is the best way to deal with peri-implant disease as global research has shown that a high incidence of severe implant disease occurs in almost in one in ten dental implants. This workshop will focus on the diagnosis of peri-implant disease, maintenance along with surgical and nonsurgical management.
Aims:
Peri-implantitis is an ever increasing threat in implant-based practice. This workshop aims to give a thorough, evidence-based clinical approach to the diagnosis and management of peri-implant disease.
Objectives:
- Enable delegates to diagnose and treat peri-implant disease
- Discuss and demonstrate case management, specifically relating to the non-surgical and surgical treatment of peri-implant disease
