This 2-day workshop aims to bridge the gap between the existing knowledge of Dental
Therapists and the latest advancements in the profession. It covers a wide range of topics,
including diagnostic procedures, treatment planning, preventive dentistry, restorative
techniques, patient communication, and practice protocols.
RESTORE is tailored to meet the unique needs of Dental Therapists at various stages of their
careers, accommodating both seasoned professionals seeking to refresh their skills and
recent graduates looking to expand their clinical competencies.

Day One:

  • Modes of working – including protocols and referral pathways 
  • Comprehensive Assessment, Record Taking, Diagnosing and Treatment Planning

Hands-on workshop:

Digital Intraoral scanning, Intraoral cameras and Photography
Communication – Patient coaching approaches and Self-development with Siobhan

Aims:

  • To restore confidence and consolidate practical restorative skills for Dental Therapists to enable full-scope working

Objectives:

  • Enable delegates to formulate screening and assessment protocols relating to record-taking and treatment-planning processes 
  • Create awareness of the latest equipment developments within the profession 
  • Consolidate knowledge of restorative materials and application of matrices 
  • Enhance confidence and proficiency in restorative skills for dental therapists 
  • Discuss personal development and goals for the future

Learning outcomes:

  • Delegates will have the latest evidence and dental therapy skill set to progress their career 
  • Delegates will have a heightened awareness of the importance of upskilling and setting
    career goals to be a better version of themselves

Day Two:

  • Isolation and Matrices 
  • Caries removal and cavity preparation

Hands-on workshop:

  • Restoration of a Class I, II and Class IV cavity 
  • Polishing and maintenance of composite restorations
