Aims and objectives:
- The fundamentals of 3D imaging. What CBCT is and how it works
- Risks and doses associated with CBCT imaging and how this compares to 2D imaging
- Regulations relating to CBCT imaging
- The selection criteria and relevant guidelines for CBCT imaging
- Common imaging artefacts and discuss factors that affect image quality
- Introduction to image manipulation and identification of any anatomical landmarks
- To provide training to be able to justify a CBCT examination
- To provide training on the interpretation and reporting of CBCT images of the dentoalveolar region
Learning outcomes:
By the end of this course, the learner will have
