Lyn Watts is an RGN of some 40+ years’ experience, with a background in both community
and anaesthetic nursing, and holds a teaching qualification. She is a Resuscitation Council
UK ALS Provider and an FAIB Approved First Aid Trainer.
She has 25 years’ experience as an NHS Resuscitation Officer working in Community Trusts
and specialises in GP and Dental Practice training, plus specialist children’s services
In 2011 she started her own business as “Watts Training” and ran it, for a time, alongside
part-time NHS work. She provides training for many dental practices, including several
chains and GP surgeries. The University of Brighton employ Lyn’s services to all cohorts in
their healthcare courses (Occupational Therapists, Podiatrists and Physios), nursing homes
and private hospitals also employ her services. She also provides all of the resuscitation
training for the locum GP membership of Pallant Medical Chambers, based in Chichester,
Wimbledon, Tunbridge Wells, Southampton and Guildford. Her Basic Life Support and
Medical Emergencies course is available to view online via Dentinal Tubules and has been
continually updated over the years as new guidelines come into play.. They have also filmed
her Emergency First Aid at Work course and this has been live since early 2018. Her
“Deteriorating Patient” course, which deals with recognition of such problems as Sepsis, and
the prevention of falls in the elderly is also available to view as is the community dental
equivalent of ILS, which is known as Extended Life Support and covers more in depth
training in insertion of various airways, reversal drugs in conscious sedation and a more
comprehensive look at the interaction of drugs, such as recreational drugs, in the treatment of
patients in dental practices
Her lecturing brings a wealth of knowledge and humour, and is one of the most
comprehensive, and sought after training sessions in the country, making a complete learning
experience; both informative, entertaining and enjoyable.
Lyn is a published author in her own right but has also published a book entitled ‘Medical
Emergencies in Dental Practices’ which is available via Ebay, Amazon, through Waterstones
or direct from Lyn by request (£10 per copy) by emailing lyn.watts@hotmail.co.uk.
