Bhavin graduated from Guy’s Hospital in 1999. Following vocational training and a year as a senior house officer at Birmingham Dental Hospital, he then worked for five years in general dental practice in central London. In 2005, Bhavin started his training to become a Specialist in Endodontics at King’s College London. He has limited his practice to Endodontics since 2006.
Bhavin achieved a distinction in the Master of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontology, and also obtained the Membership in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. In 2009, he was accepted on the GDC specialist register for Endodontics. During his postgraduate studies, Bhavin was awarded research grants by The Royal College of Surgeons and The British Endodontic Society. In 2017, Bhavin completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education at King’s College London and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Bhavin has held the position of Consultant in Endodontics at both King’s College Hospital (2011-2015) and Guy’s Dental Hospital (2015-present) where he supervises and teaches undergraduates and postgraduate students who are specialising in Endodontics. He is actively involved in teaching at all levels, including undergraduate and postgraduate. Bhavin is co-founder of the EndoArt Postgraduate Diploma in Endodontics and module coordinator for the Distance Learning Master’s programme in Endodontics at King’s College London. Furthermore, he is an examiner for the Royal College of England.
Bhavin has co-written 6 textbook chapters which include contributions to the “The Principles of Endodontics” and “Cone Beam Computed Tomography in Endodontics” as well as a number of publications in peer reviewed journals. He has co-authored the European Society of Endodontology position statement on the “Restoration of root filled teeth” and is a referee for The International Endodontic Journal and other endodontic journals.
