Dr Vishaal Shah qualified from St. Bartholomew’s and The Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2003. From humble beginnings, he began his career as an associate in a small sea side
town where he spent the following 7 years developing his skills. He went on to become the clinical director at Dentality in 2010 where he converted a moderately run part time practice into a thriving and highly regarded, award winning practice offering all treatment modalities.
In 2012, Vishaal was awarded Fellowships to the Pierre Fauchard Academy of Dental Honours and Academy of Dentistry International at the American Dental Association Conference in San Francisco. He was the only dentist from the UK to have been awarded this accolade that year.
Vishaal’s main goals from the very beginning of his career were to gain further knowledge in all treatment modalities but in particular to pursue his passion for anatomically and functionally beautiful Posterior Composites. He has attended numerous composite courses all over the world and has learnt several different techniques, tips and tricks from numerous colleagues to develop and continuously improve his skills.
His passion for dentistry and the dental profession has seen him commit to thousands of hours of further training into furthering his knowledge and has over that time, amassed an extensive portfolio of beautiful cases. He truly believes that the key to learning is through constant and consistent reflection.
He has previously run courses independently, lectured for the BACD, several University Hospital Trusts throughout the South East of England and was also invited to speak in Mumbai, India. He has lectured on several occasions for Dentinal Tubules and has run a series of courses and study clubs at his practice. He has also taught undergraduate students at Queen Mary’s University of London, Institute of Adult Oral Health.
“I quickly realised that courses I had attended only gave me snippets of what could be achieved but didn’t equip me with confidence to transfer what I had learnt to my patients immediately; that all came with experiential learning and through reflection of cases I had done. I did it the hard way and I hope that the knowledge and experience I have gained will inspire others to confidently embark on the same fantastic but faster journey that I have had and continue to have in learning the art of Dentistry.”
