The functional and aesthetic rehabilitation of patients affected by tooth wear and mucogingival deformities, requires a multidisciplinary approach combining periodontal and restorative principles. These aim to deliver an aesthetic and structurally sound restoration, while promoting proper plaque control measures and control of periodontal inflammation.

Aims and Objectives:

The objective of this seminar, is to provide a periodontal perspective on the diagnostic and operative aspects involved in tooth wear cases, with a specific focus on crown lengthening for restorative purposes and on the coverage of gingival recessions in presence of non carious cervical lesions.

Learning Outcomes:

Both diagnostic protocols and step by step operative algorithms will be reviewed with a specific attention to the establishment of a cooperative relationship between periodontist and restorative dentist.
